Terms of Service

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using Rune ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App.

Rune is an iOS productivity and focus app designed to help you reduce distractions and build focus routines. Depending on the version and features available to you, Rune may allow you to create focus sessions, block selected apps or websites, schedule recurring sessions, track habits and streaks, view focus statistics, and use related premium features.

Rune is intended for users age 9 and older, consistent with its App Store age rating. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.

Some Rune features require Apple system permissions or device capabilities.

• App blocking and scheduled blocking features require Screen Time-related authorization through Apple's frameworks
• Website blocking may require enabling Rune's Safari content blocker extension
• Location-based schedules require location permission if you choose to use that feature
• Reminders and related features require notification permission if you choose to receive notifications

You can decline or revoke these permissions in your device settings, but some features may not function without the relevant permission.

If you enable app blocking, website blocking, or scheduled enforcement, you authorize Rune to use Apple-provided system frameworks and extensions to apply the restrictions you configured. You understand that blocked apps, categories, or websites may become unavailable while a focus session or schedule is active. You remain responsible for your own device settings and for reviewing the restrictions you configure.

Rune may offer paid features, including auto-renewable subscriptions and other in-app purchases made through Apple's App Store.

Billing

• Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase
• Auto-renewable subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period
• Your account may be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period
• You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your App Store account settings

Trials and Introductory Offers

Trial or introductory offer availability, eligibility, duration, and terms may vary by product and are determined by Apple or by the specific offer presented in the app at the time of purchase. Unless otherwise stated in the offer shown to you, any unused portion of a free trial may be forfeited when you purchase a subscription.

Refunds and Restores

Purchases are processed by Apple. Refund requests must be made to Apple under Apple's policies. If you previously purchased eligible content, you may use the app's restore mechanism where available.

You agree not to:

• Use Rune for unlawful purposes
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code except where prohibited by law
• Interfere with or attempt to bypass Rune's intended restrictions or purchase flows
• Redistribute, resell, sublicense, or exploit Rune except as expressly allowed by us
• Use Rune in a way that infringes the rights of others or disrupts the service

Rune, including its software, design, branding, visual assets, and related content, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for your personal, non-commercial use.

RUNE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE APP WILL ALWAYS BE AVAILABLE, UNINTERRUPTED, OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT EVERY BLOCKING, SCHEDULING, NOTIFICATION, OR SUBSCRIPTION FEATURE WILL WORK IN EVERY SITUATION.

Some features depend on Apple system frameworks, iOS behavior, device configuration, network availability, App Store services, or other factors outside our direct control.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF DATA, REVENUE, PROFITS, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF RUNE.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR CLAIMS RELATING TO THE APP WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR RUNE THROUGH THE APP STORE DURING THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE.

We may suspend or terminate access to Rune if required by law, if reasonably necessary to protect the service or other users, or if you materially violate these Terms. You may stop using Rune at any time by deleting the app.

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we may provide notice through the app, this website, or other reasonable means. Your continued use of Rune after the updated Terms take effect means you accept the revised Terms.

These Terms are governed by applicable law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory law in your jurisdiction provides otherwise.

If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect to the fullest extent permitted by law.
